Scarlett Johansson's Nose Snot Sold For $5,300 On Ebay

A tissue used by Scarlett Johansson has been sold for $5,300 (£3,600) on auction website eBay.

The actress was appearing on US talk show Tonight when host Jay Leno handed her a tissue after the star said she had caught a cold.

Johansson blew her nose twice, leaving some lipstick and mucus behind, before putting it in a bag and signing it.

Proceeds from the sale are going to hunger charity USA Harvest, the charity of Scarlett Johansson's choice.

The actress appeared on Tonight to promote her latest movie, The Spirit, in which she stars in alongside Samuel L Jackson.

Johansson told Leno she had caught a cold from him and thought her illness had more "value" as it had been passed from one celebrity to another.

It is not the first time the Lost In Translation star has used eBay to raise money for charity.

In March a fan paid £20,000, which went to Oxfam, for a 20-minute date with the Hollywood actress.

The Spirit will be released in UK cinemas on 1 January

After 83 bids, the tissue actress Scarlett Johanson used to blow her nose on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last week was sold on eBay for $5,300 on Monday.
