  1. Metairie is home to the longest bridge over water in the world, the Lake Pontchartrain causeway. The causeway connects Metairie with St. Tammany Parish on the North Shore. The causeway is 24 miles long.
  2. Breaux Bridge is known as the "Crawfish Capital of the World".
  3. Since 1835 the New Orleans & Carrolliton Line is the oldest street railway line still in operation

OpenTTD

1. OpenTTD is a clone of the Microprose game "Transport Tycoon Deluxe", a popular game originally written by Chris Sawyer.

2. It duplicates the original game's features but also has numerous additions, including canals, revised rail station construction, and additional airports.

3. The game begins by default in the year 1950, though the starting date can be increased or decreased to any date where vehicles are available, including near-future dates with futuristic vehicles.

Beetles

1. Whirligig beetles are found on ponds and streams.
