It runs Windows server 2003 which is sort of like Windows 2000 with Windows XP features. Linux maybe a good OS for older computers.

Web browsing and watching video files on Server 2003 works similar to Windows XP. Most programs I used in XP does work well on Windows Server 2003. I think a lot of people who got Windows Server 2003 for free from work or school maybe using it as a desktop PC to save money instead of buying Windows for $100 from a store. If you need to learn about server 2003, using it as your desktop OS can make you more likely to learn the many features of Server OS.

I think some server OS may also have more security features to prevent virus and hacker problems.
