actual machine aside, I know with VM you can pretty much do anything and should be able to install anything on it.

I think a lot of web hosts use VM to sell Virtual Private Servers which is cheaper than a dedicated webhosting server monthly cost.

VMs are also a simple way to play older games, printers, and software which may not work on the OS installed on the PC storage drive.

I might be getting a good job soon, if so I need to brush up on VM software and how to best use CPUs on it.

I think some people use VM to learn about Virtual Networking which are virtual versions if switches, routers, and servers.

I think if you have a powerfull CPU like a i9, it makes running many VM OSes at once less slow than using a slower CPU.

All you need for that is a packet tracker program, which does take a good CPU to run.
