compilation album of classical music

I know most classical music is made to sound like it was made, in the era its written. which is all well and good, and i respect that, but i was just wondering if there was maybe a compilation album of classical music, sounding more modern? and up to date? like remakes of them? if they're isn't, do you think its a good idea?
