I heard AI companies are buying up a lot of used books to scan for AI training.

Yeah, saw some japanese store was having their entire stock purchased, kind of crazy.

I wonder if some of the employees are secretly taking the books home to secretly resell, or keep the book in their own personal book collection. I feel some AI companies may end up buying many versions of the same books by accident, and some used book stores may sell many copies of the same version of the same book to AI companies to earn more money, and hope the AI company won't bother asking for a refund because they bought the same book many times.
