Websites that give you answers like Yahoo answers and answers.com?

They are useful for simple question like Who invented Java. Ans: James Gosling of Sun software, but I kind of feel that sites like that are not really teaching people to be self-reliant and find the answers themselves through hard work and research.

But, whatever people can use their time for something else and let someone else tell the answers to them.

I'm not saying these sites are handy but when you want a quick answer sometimes they are wayy easier.

But then again google is at your disposal so i can't see why the need for those sites exist other than to be another opportunity to waste terabytes of data on stuff no one cares about.

Some people enjoy reading questions to answers that some random person will reply, to. I think these types of sites are better for very current answers like "on Feb, 04 2009, what new Mario game releases came out for the wii." , or answers more relating to the asker like " I lost my wallet, where should I look for it first."

I find forums to be pretty good at answering questions to my problems. Google tends to bring back a lot of results from Wikepedia which have articles that are kind of long to read or somewhat unrelated to my questions.
