Ever lost a serial key for paid software?

Post by froggyboy604 »

Yes, serial keys are one of the reasons which I hate installing paid software. If I lose my serial key. I am basicly out of luck unless tech support gives me a new one, or I can somehow crack or recover my own serial key from the CD.

I learned by writing Serial keys down on a CD, and pasting the serial key on a txt file. I have save in multiple locations.

Steam games don't require keys, I heard. I wish more software company are like steam.

Digital River from Microsoft is a downloadable store which sells software. I like that they include a serial key in the confirmation e-mail, but it kind of sucks that they could not somehow embed a text file into the file to tell the customers the serial key, or make it possible for users to request a new CD Key by using a e-mail address when registering their products with MS.
