Amazon is one of the more affordable places to find textbooks, tech like a laptop for school and school supplies. The price savings from buying stuff from Amazon may cover the cost of Amazon Prime with student discount.
The Amazon Reward Credit Card is a better deal than the Credit Card from a local bank which has monthly fees, and more fees if you take out too much money from the ATM and bank tellers.

their credit card is pretty nice, though only if you make your payments. Miss one and you will be hit with some heavy interest. But with 5%/1% back I've gotten lots of free things from amazon.

Most Credit Cards and bank loans make money off of people who don't pay on time, or pay the bare minimum payment.
Amazon Credit Card is good for people who need to buy a lot of stuff.
