They seemed to think their funds would be better spent for building classrooms and hiring teachers, not "fancy tools," and their reasoning is hard to fault in that regard. Education Secretary Sudeep Banerjee also questioned the maturity of Negroponte's plan, and said no major country was seriously interested.
Nigeria ordered a million 100 doller laptops.

I think most desktops comps are pretty cheap these days and are better then these laptop, or better yet buy refurbished/2nd hand comps, so there also less old non-broken comps in the trash and money for schools and teachers would be better then kids having $100 laptops.
