source: http://blog.scifi.com/tech/archives/200 ... n_get.htmlAttention chat room occupants: you might think you can hide behind your keyboard and mouth off to anyone and everyone with your misspelled insults and dry, referential wit, but don't be so sure you're safe. In England the first report of "web-rage" has come in, with a guy who was insulted in a chat room tracking down his insulter, traveling 70 miles to his house, and beating the living crap out of him with a pick axe handle. Yikes. There are no amount of smiley faces or LOLs to make that one feel any better. Let this be a lesson to all of you who like to feel tough by being a jerk anonymously online: you are not anonymous, and you are not tough. The Internet is full of crazies, and you do not want to get your skull busted in with a pick axe handle because you told some guy you thought Buffy the Vampire Slayer was an unrealistic show. This has been a public service announcement from your friends at SCI FI Tech who, for the record, would never beat you up. — Adam Frucci
This is so weird lol. People should learn violence and arguing with people online doesn't solve problems online or offline. Hitting the victim with a pick axe handle is just mean. I think it's not very smart to offend people online since they can track you down and do something crazy like this attacker in the story.
