Hard to say, I know pro is a bit more stable and doesn't bother users as much with annoying options.

I think some people may still be using Windows 7 because they feel it is more stable than newer OS, and is less likely to have compatibility problems with antivirus.

It can be stable if you don't do much and don't need access to the latest things.

I think older hardware drivers and software for Windows 7 maybe more stable because the maker of the software probably fix all the problems with their software for Windows 7, and Windows 7 does not have any new updates which can break other software.

it shouldn't break software if it doesn't get new updates, which is a good thing for printers.

I think there maybe still extended support for Windows 7, but you have to pay for it. I feel the extended support updates maybe less likely to break an AV because MS maybe more careful with making updates when people are paying for extended support.

Only if you run a bussiness I think, but they are about to kill off the IE browser which we still need for an old sharepoint service we use >_<
