Re: Recommended AV?
I think it might be dangerous for MS to do that, some people still don't get AVs and to go without anything would be dangerous.

Microsoft could make custom versions of Windows which come with popular third party antivirus like Bitdefender which will be installed during the installation of Windows rather than force people to keep Windows Defender on their PC even if they will never use it for an extended amount of time.

That would be awesome, but I don't think MS wants to make deals, they like to do their own thing.

Re: Recommended AV?
I think Microsoft maybe willing to partner with a well trusted third-party antivirus company if Windows Defender is causing them to lose too much money and time by needing to hire a lot of workers to maintain the virus definitions and software for Windows Defender.
Microsoft no longer makes Internet Explorer, and replaced IE with Microsoft Edge which is similar to Chromium web browser.

Edge still sucks and gets loaded with pop ups and what not leading to possible viruses.

Is Edge pop-up ad blocker very bad?
Maybe Microsoft should make a web browser which is based on Firefox like WaterFox web browser which is based on Firefox. I heard Firefox is more secure these days.

Seems to me that anything in edge tends to pop up and be a click hazard.
