Agreed, wish that was still done but sadly sometimes sites can infect you by looking legit but not.

I think there are also viruses which infect DNS servers and routers which direct people to infected sites when people use their web browser to go to legit sites.

You can also set group policies to put viruses onto machines as well.

I heard using a regular/non-admin account can reduce the chance of getting a virus.

It makes it if you do get a virus, there is little risk of it spreading far.

I wonder if deleting an infected regular user account may help remove some viruses which don't spread to other user accounts and the Windows system folder.

Can confirm that deleting the profile does not stop what is going on. At least if its on the domain, it can just easily reload.
