Re: When is it time to upgrade?
I'm sure the big companies like HP, Dell, ect. wouldn't do that, they rather see a person spend the money upgrading.

PC makers also may save time and money by not needing to add the software and temperature sensors on the motherboard, so the autoshutdown temperature warning works.
I think a lot of people who build their own PC are more interested in motherboards with autoshutdown temperature warning systems because the computer can overheat during hot weather, and doing CPU intensive tasks.

That's funny, the PC makers have no problem filling a PC with bloatware.

I think PC makers make money when people decide to pay for the full version of Bloatware, click on ads in Bloatware, the bloatware maker pays money to the PC maker for including their bloatware, and the PC maker makes more money when the user subscribe to the yearly subscriptions for bloatware.
The PC maker may also be the owner or investor of the bloatware or bought bloatware stocks from the Stock Market, so the PC maker may earn more money from Bloatware stocks if a lot of people are using the bloatware which may cause the stock price of the bloatware to become higher.

I know PC makers always try to make more money, I'm pretty sure they sell pcs at a loss so got to make money on software, upgrades and warranty extension.

I think some PC makers make money from technical support, so the Bloatware may cause slowdown and out of storage space problems where they may phone their PC maker to fix their PC problems.

I know that's how I made sales back in the day, offering to remove the bloatware and ensure they wouldn't need to upgrade too soon.
