It could be used for enterprise use, but i don't see it being usable on a retail level.

I think thee are not a lot of popular software, and scanners and printers which work for Linux. I feel Linux could be a popular OS for gamers with less money since Linux can run well on older PCs, and to play Linux compatible games on Steam for Linux.
But, I think it would take a while for most people to try a Linux OS like Ubuntu.

Good point, I don't think sharp printers work with linux which they are often used in offices.

I think a lot of people won't use Linux as their main OS until most printers, scanners, game and video capture devices, usb microphone, digital musical instruments, webcams, and other devices work in Linux, and most software for devices like game capture devices work for Linux.
I feel It may take many years for most devices, and software for devices like software for game and video capture devices to be compatible with Linux.

Hopefully as windows becomes worse, more people take it upon themselves to make linux better and easier.

I heard Windows may become a subscription in the future, so I think many people will switch to a Linux PC because subscriptions can cost a lot of money over time.

If windows really does become like that, I'll buy parts and keep my old PC going forever.
