It is too bad that Apple did not voluntarily pay more money to the people who complained.

Companies don't like to pay more than they like or being caught, still like to know why they think they would have gotten away with it.

I think smaller companies may pay more if they did something wrong to avoid totally ruining their reputation.

Yep, they will also pay a lot to stay in business, any bad words can affect sales.

I think some smaller hardware makers may also spend a lot of money on customer service to avoid expensive lawsuits, and getting investigated by the government which can damage ta hardware companies reputation even more.

Most tend to be too good for bad reviews unless made cheap or steal parts from other hardware makers.
