cheap SSDs tend to fail long before they can be too useful.

I feel cheap SSD may last longer if people use a lightweight programs like antivirus and antimalware which does not make Windows use too much virtual memory which uses the Swap file to write and read data which won't fully fit on the computer's physical RAM.

I heard of more expensive SSD failing earlier than expected, so it is a good idea to backup SSD data on a daily or weekly basis.

It's always a good idea to back up all media often, never know when it will fail or get a virus.

I think physical external storage like Blu-Ray-R, tape drives, and printing documents and pictures out may make a comeback because of ransomware and malware attacks becoming more popular.

Tape drives are still used and thriving for data loss, most business use a quantum or HP brand tape drive that writes TB amount of data to LTO tapes. Just got to make sure the backups are good when going to tape.

Are the read and write speeds for tape drives still very slow?

LTO9 is faster but it takes time.
