The temp in my home is usually pretty good, no reason for things to deteriorate.

I think rust can occur in homes with good temperatures because moisture is found everywhere from the bathroom, kitchen sink, food, pipes, boiling water, melting snow, and outside rain can make the air moist, and cause metal connectors to rust, and oxidize.

Using the metal connector too many times may make the metal less tight, and may cause heating problems. I read online that you should replace loose home electrical outlets, and power plugs to prevent electrical fires from a loose connection.

I know with these smaller connectors, it feels so easy that they will simply break off in the device.

I think those charging pads were a good idea since you just place them on the charging pad to charge them, so you don't wear out the USB port and cable by plugging it in as many times.

But, I'm not sure if those charging pads good for the battery since they may cause the battery to heat up more than with a cable.

I would think the charging pads would be rather slow?

Charging pads are slower, but they maybe more durable than cables and USB ports with fragile connectors. Many people charge their phone while they are not using their phones like when watching TV, playing video games, or using the computer at home, so using a charging pad won't be a huge hassle.

I would think that would put a strain on the receiver in the phone, which I imagine is how the phone gets internet signal.
