I don't know, whenever I see an AMD PC, it usually has a pretty weak CPU in it.

AMD has a few faster CPUs which are installed on some Gaming desktop PC.
But, AMD CPUs are also installed on a lot of cheaper laptops, desktop computers, and a few Windows tablets. Many people buy cheap computers to use for school and work, and cheap PCs with AMD CPUs are sometimes slightly cheaper than similar Intel CPU which cost almost the same.
Intel sold a lot of cheap CPUs like the Atom, Celeron, Pentium, and i3, and computer makers installed them on cheap laptops, Chromebooks, Windows tablets, and some older Android smartphones and tablets.

In my experience I don't think slow/cheap cpus should be made, they are what a PC runs on and should be made to handle anything.

There's the Raspberry Pi $35 PC which has a slow CPU, and a lot of people used them for simple tasks like playing a video and music file.
A lot of people only use their PC for simple tasks, so a cheap CPU can be good enough for them.
But, People who play PC games, and use bigger programs would need a faster CPU.

I was talking to someone today who says AMD can get you about the same speeds as Intel but at less of a cost, kind of interesting.

AMD probably spend less money on online advertisements, magazine ads, and TV ads, so they don't need to earn as much money to pay for millions of ads which can cost a lot of money. AMD is also the CPU brand for the Xbox One and PS4, so it got a lot of free word of mouth advertisement from gamers.

That does help, plus I hear intel can be shady with their business practices.
