I have seen people come and buy them, though they report the video quality isn't up to par via a regular connection.

USB to VGA video cards may mostly be good for reading text, pictures, and watching slow videos.

I feel an external USB-C video card can be a better choice for people who needs two or more video ports on their laptop with USB-C ports.

If the laptop has a USB c port, they don't seem to becoming popular as people thought they were.

I think USB-C is mostly popular with Apple laptops. There are some more expensive Windows and Chromebook laptops which has USB-C, but I think not many people buy them.

I never seen a computers with USB-C being used in public.

I read a few years ago that some poorly made USB-C cables can break your smartphone, so some people may not trust USB-C as being reliable.

I know I placed a usb c into a regular usb port and it made the whole pc jolt, come of risky stuff.
