Maybe using a remote control with a USB cable would be the safest way to control an antivirus's scan features with a remote because there are no wireless signals and internet connections to hack.

That would increase security as long as the remote came with a long enough cord.

There are USB hubs with long cords, and there are also extension cords for USB cables. I feel some users may prefer to pay less for a shorter cord.

I've noticed hubs and extenders can also cause some lag.

I think it is probably best for an Antivirus remote control to have a USB-C or Micro-USB port, so users can buy their own cable which is long enough for them.

I haven't seen many USB c extenders, can't imagine they are cheap.
