Re: Learning IT
I think hard drives slower speeds compared to SSDs is less noticeable when using lightweight operating systems like Linux, and MS-DOS, and opening small files like MP3 and text files.

Lighter weight OS does help, its a shame programs aren't kept light weight to maintain pc speed.

Re: Learning IT
I think operating systems are more heavy because a lot of criminals now make viruses for Windows and Apple Mac, so OS makers now bundle a lot of very CPU and RAM intensive security programs and features to stop cyberattacks and viruses like ransomware which sometimes can lock people out of their own computer unless you pay a lot of money to unlock the ransomware.

Nah, well, it might be true for some, but most stuff is over bloated and prooly programmed and so takes more resources.

Re: Learning IT
I feel AI/Artificial Intellegence software being built into OS could make newer OS run slower.

Oh without a doubt since it would have to make many API calls out to pull information from a database and process it.

Re: Learning IT
I think a lot of AI databases maybe full of junk data in the database which could make AI programs run slower, and worst.
