Would be nice so long as a lightning strike don't take it out.

I think the battery may help with at protecting the monitor from some power surges if the battery is designed to disconnect from the monitor when there is a power surge.
Unplugging the monitor from the wall power, and using a large battery to power the monitor will help with preventing lightning damage.

that would help assuming the batter can keep going or still has enough charge.

I guess a solar powered monitor which charge a battery with light may help with extending the battery life before the battery runs out of power when it gets dark outside.
There are also hand crank battery chargers where you can use your hand to crank a power generator to charge a battery, but you need to spin it very fast to be useful.

might be interesting to put something like that on a monitor to ensure there is enough power to keep it going.

It would be interesting to have a monitor which has a battery which you can charge with a small windmill which you put near an open window or outside, so it uses the wind to charge a battery by blowing a propeller on a windmill.

Be a great idea, but bugs could get into the monitor and ruin it.
