it can happen, if things get buggy, I've seen mcafee do some crazy stuff.

It is too bad that most antivirus companies don't also bundle a simple hard drive cloning/imaging backup software, so users can more easily restore their computer from backups stored on a USB storage drive if their AV accidentally messed up their computer from booting, or failed to protect their PC from malware, virus and ransomware which the AV can't remove.

Would be nice but heavily tax the AV software that can already run slow.

I think scheduling backups every few days may not tax an AV with a built-in backup software to recover files which got infected or deleted by a virus.

Well they say you should run a scan every day, which for some people they need more than one.

I think quick virus scans a few times a day, and a full scan every few days maybe good enough for users who rarely download new files, or copy new files from a USB storage drive, CD/DVD discs, or Networked hard drives.

I don't trust quick scans, if there is a virus on the machine it needs to be found.
