I feel Sony may release a Mini-PS2 in the future since a lot of gamers may still want to play PS2 games on a mini-console with many games pre-installed on a 1TB SSD drive which can hold many PS2 games on it.
The original PS3 can play PS2 games. In many years, Sony may make a mini-PS3 which also come with the most popular PS2 and PS3 games pre-installed on the mini-console, and sell it for $200 or more.

I'm kind of surprised they haven't done a PS2, but maybe covid put the breaks on that.

I feel Sony may want to continue selling re-makes PS2 games on the PS4, PS5, Playstation Now game streaming, Android/iPhone, and PC before making a mini-version of the PS2 for $99 to $150. I think Sony earn a lot of money from selling digital download-only re-makes of games and DLC.
I feel Covid may cause delays for mini-consoles because of electronics parts like SSD and CPU shortages, and computer parts shipping delays. Plus, many people no longer go to game stores and less money to spend because of Covid lockdowns and unemployment caused by Covid, so it may not be a good time to release a mini-console.

hopefully covid ends soon and even better Sony makes factories outside of China for these kinds of things.

I feel local factories in the US, Mexico, Canada, etc for game consoles could help solve the Covid slowdown problems, and create more jobs for people. Many game console buyers may pay higher prices for locally made game consoles because a lot of their friends, and family members now have game console factory jobs which pay them enough money to buy game consoles, and a lot of people want to buy locally made products.

Hopefully one day in the future they make it happen, specially with more anti dust measures.

I feel some game consoles will be fanless in the future, so game console makers will earn more money by not including a built-in fan, and selling the console for $500 or more.
Some game console owners who live in hotter places like the dessert will need to turn on their air conditioner to cool their room, so their console won't shutdown when it is overheating like some desktop PC which shutdown when the CPU is too hot.
