I think there are some non-harmful ways to trap bugs like with sticky paper.

I wouldn't put it in PCs, maybe around it so hopefully nothing crawls in.

Maybe putting sticky fly paper on the bottom of the case can be a good idea if computers have spider and bug problems.

I have read that ants can be messy in a pc, better to keep them out than dying in the machine.

I think tower style PCs maybe better at preventing ants from crawling on the motherboard because the motherboard is mounted higher oi the case compared to a mini PC and slim desktops which motherboard is mounted at the bottom.

True, higher mounted parts would be harder to get at than parts laid out flat in a laptop.

I imagine the warm temperatures of laptops could attract insects as well.
