Still, I have noticed some workplaces kind of like paypal do also get high end monitors. Would be nice to get access to those.

I imagine Paypal may pay a lot of money for highend monitors, or highend monitor makers give them a dicount, so they say a big company use their monitors in their workplace.

I do notice that acer makes some decent monitors sold at workplaces, my workplace has some I've never seen sold publicly.

More people are using laptops, all-in-one pc and tablets, so I think some stores are selling only a few brands, sizes and models of monitors, so stores have more space in the store to sell products like laptops, all-in-one pc and tablets which have more buyers.

A lot of people who want high end monitors will buy it from Amazon, Newegg, and other stores.

laptops seem to have subpar screens in my opinion, easily broken and don't look as nice.

I bet, most of the better screens are now used in expensive tablets like the iPad Pro, all-in-one pc, and TVs. A lot of people may not be willing to pay more for a laptop with a better screen, so laptop companies use cheaper screens.

I have seen some all in one PCs handled roughly and not one scratch to the screen.
