yep, I use bit defender that scans all usbs but can be annoying.

I agree it can be kind of annoying especially when scanning slower USB drive.

thankfully you can stop it, but not all software will even check a USB.

I'm glad USB 3.0 and 3.1 storage drives have faster read speeds, so scans take only a few minutes.

even if faster, it depends on the files that can still take awhile.

I agree those big files and large .zip files can take a long time to scan.

would be nice to set it to not scan certain usbs.
