That is true, better boxes may add many dollars to shipping unless the boxes are reusable, and you can send them back to the shipping company.

I often reuse boxes for shipping tech stuff, it helps save costs and gets the most out of the boxes.

Do you also reuse the packing material like Styrofoam?
It is too bad that very few tech products are made with thicker case which can protect a device from higher drops.

I reuse anything I can, specially anti-static bags, those are money saviors when kept.

Most likely because most parts come with one or should come with one, though you think they at least sell big size ones.
