I imagine chargers for low powered devices like cheap tablets, smartphones, and slow laptops can last long because cheap devices come with small batteries which usually can't charge very fast and can't hold a lot of electricity. The charger may also not get as hot because it charges so slow.

Even slow, I've found them to get hot from constant power flower.

I imagine the plastic case is thinner on most power bricks, so it is easier to feel how warm the power brick is, so people know it is working.

It's actually thick plastic on most, but I've noticed some HP ones really do get very hot.

I wonder if adding taller feet and a cheap heatsink to laptop chargers can make them run cooler. Maybe some chargers use lower quality wires and parts which may make them run hotter.

Taller feet might make it awkward to use the laptop which would bother a lot of people.
