I wonder if a good software firewall and better antivirus can prevent most of these ransomware attacks.

Hard to say, most ransomware is user error or extreme hacking.

I feel some of the ransomware attacks maybe from angry workers who use ransomware to infect their boss's PC, so they can seek revenge against their boss who they don't like.

I've heard horror stories like that, which is why most IT people are walked off their job the moment they are fired.

I heard there are doors with locks which require users to put in a smart card to enter rooms with servers and important data.
I imagine most of the smart cards of fired workers will be deactivated and taken away before firing workers. Fired angry workers with nothing can lose may plug in a very advance virus on a USB drive which wrecks an important computer's data.

Most places have those, I do at my work and the second anyone is fired their card is revoked.

I imagine there would also be video cameras to record who enter the room.
