I heard there were protests from from poorer workers who weren't getting paid at an electronics company.

True, many tried to form unions to get better pay, not sure if it ever panned out.

I think unions are working out in countries like the US, UK, and Canada, but not so much in countries with a lot of poor people where there are many people who are willing to work for less money.

Not always, even here in the USA unions struggle, some like Staples can't seem to form any despite badly needing them.

At least, it is possible to sue your employer if you feel you are being underpaid in the US.

I wonder there are crowd funding sites which help people raise money for court fees for workers to sue their boss.
