It can be, but its so much easier setting one up and installing stuff which uses an ssd.

With games and software being many GB in size, a SSD would be nice. It can take many hours to install many big software on a hard drive.

so long as you can get a large enough ssd, 1tb is becoming affordable while the bigger sizes remain costly.
