I think running some operating systems like Windows in a VM can be heavy if you run a computer with less than 6GB RAM and an Intel Celeron or Pentium CPU.

Pretty sure neither Celeron or Pentium can handle any kind of VR program, they would crash before getting off the ground.

I feel Celeron and Pentiums are more likely to break from over heating when running bugger programs like 3D games.

I doubt they break, but the whole system would freeze up and become unusable, or maybe kill the os.

I guest it may cause an out of memory/ram error message, and the CPU may feel very slow.

Once there is a strong enough CPU, it is fun playing around in VM and seeing what happens to a pc when running on low specs.

I sometimes like changing the RAM amount in VMs to see how well the OS run on less RAM.
