I've sent them before. I had to on Rawr all the time, seeing as it was my job.. I didn't really like it though. I had to send a quiz about every month.

The thing that bothers me is mass e-mailing. I have no idea why, I just don't want forum news in my inbox. It drives me insane.

Though, I do have an experience with mass PMing that made me mad. I'm not naming the forum though..
I joined a forum to continue a post exchange while the owner left for personal reasons, seeing as it was a trick.. and she came back, I didn't have to do it anymore. So I never posted. One week later, I get a PM about inactivity.
I PM them back saying, I really had no intention on joining the board unless I needed to help the owner with something, and there really isn't a point for me to have an account anymore, so you can just delete it. I also told them not PM me again on my inactivity.. because I was never going to be active there. Soon, I start getting PMs every freaking day. This was from an administrator!! I expect a little more class out of them, so I PM a different admin asking them to please have their staff not harrass me on my inactivity. They PMed me back saying it wasn't going to happen, so I asked them to delete my account. They refused to do it, and they were rude about it. Lets just say, I'm glad that board is closed now.

Reminds me of a board I also go to with a admin who have a Kirby nintendo character. I like the boards topics, but they get out of hand with the mass PM.

There is a way to turn off PM notifications being sent to your e-mail inbox in the control panel for forums that run on phpbb and invision board software. But, they can be hard to find for people who are not very familiar with the control panel since most people just use the control panel for updating their sig, avatar, and profiles.

I don`t mind mass e-mails since they are easy to delete as long as they have important content in them. But, e-mails with only 1 or 2 lines of content are kind of annoying. I try to only send 0-1 mass e-mail a month if there is something worth talking about like contest, and technical problems.

I hate those E-cards people send me or invitations telling me to join Facebook, myspace, and other sites I already have an account at or feel I don`t want to join.
