considering other browsers are free and IE is something you have to pay for this should be happening to the free browsers not the ones you have to pay for. so that tells you something about the quality of other browsers.
IE is freeware since it comes with most version of their OS without additional fees. Plus, you can always download newer versions of IE free of charge. IE 8 will also be a free download since the beta is currently free.

Plus, If you own a Mac, you used to be able to download IE for it for free. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/5888
But, it is unavailiable since Apple has Safari now.

then I'd be pissed if Microsoft demands ALL new software in the future, is only compatible with what ever new system they have. I was told microsoft was doing something like that.
MS doesn't control the software industry. They only can control their own software like MS Office, and MS Encarta.

The software companies who are non-MS companies like Corel, EA, Norton , Techsmith, etc can keep making software for older Windows systems. For example, Norton and Symantec firewalls are not compatible with Vista the last time I checked like 6 months a go.

Microsoft can only control their own software compatiblity for new and old systems. For Example, Office 2007 no longer works for computers that run on Windows 2000 and older. It onlt works on Windows XP and up.

Aye ye make a couple good points there,

though Symantec have updated norton so it's compatible with Vista and i'm fairly sure they had done that near the release of Vista (New versions only)

the comment i would like to post, breaches most of the rules on this board and since i am admin i'd be leading a bad example,

But i have to call you an idiot, The Computing gods demand that.

MSIE has been free for around a decade, the only reason you would have to pay for IE is if you wanted it on Media (Floppy/CD/DVD/Saturn 5 Rocket).

Netscape? geez who the hell talks about that pile of crap, sure it may of Had 90% of the browser market but that was when there was no competition.

also i'm reasonably sure (30%) that there MS have release an IE version for Mac and linux, but i couldn't be to sure.

I'm just saying what my computer teacher said, and since I would like to rip IE from my computer and throw IE into hell I don't pay to much attention to it. as for netscape my school uses it but now there changing over to firefox lol.

Same, for me. Opera is one of those programs very few people use, but are very good.

have a lot of positive reviews.
