Yes, at least it is less heavy, and you don't have to worry about losing a mouse.

Play touch based games like checkers, and chess, racing games, twitter tweets, go on Facebook, watch movies, view photos, maps, play songs, take photos, record video and voice and do task which don't require a lot of typing, and mousing.
A Tablet does not really have a main use. It can do a lot of things, but it can't do somethings as well because of no keyboard or mouse.

Indeed, only if you can't find a use for a tablet or have no use for it.
But, if you need one for reading E-books, draw, visiting websites with a bigger screen then a cell phone, watching videos, and doing a ton of other tasks it won't be a waste of money, and it be worth it.
I use a tablet to read twitter twetts, facebook status updates, and read blogs when I don't have access to a computer or laptop. It keeps me entertained, so it can be worth it. But, I got my tablet for free from my sister, so I didn't waste or spend any money on it, so I'm not complaining.
