The same limit can be true for Smartphones and Tablets, but there are new brands coming out every year, and most of these devices have buyers because some people like one brand over another, the case looks better on another brand, or another brand has more features and apps.

If Google sells a game console online, and some retailers like Target, Gamestop, and Wal-Mart, there will be buyers since most people with Google Android phones and tablets already have a small collection of Google Android games, and apps on their Google Account.

Plus, people use a lot of Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Search, Google Plus, and Blogspot, so some people may want a game console which they can use to easily check gmail, watch YouTube videos, search, and post to Google+, and Blogspot with Apps without the need to open a web browser.

People also like buying cheap game consoles like how Ouya sold out at Gamestop, and Amazon from people who wanted a $99 game console which can play Video games.

unfortunately frog you are wrong. Game consoles work completely different and need people buying them in order for game makers to make games for the console giving said console life.

People are not buying the Wii U and I've read a few developers saying they will work on the Wii U if more people buy it. The more gaming platforms there are the more divided the gamers are among them, very few people will buy all systems and keep putting in time and money in them all. There are some who never go beyond one console and some who will never buy a certain console.

In the gaming world we do need a variety but not too much of a variety or weaker game makers will struggle.

At least, with Google Android game consoles, a game developer can code the game once for Android, release it to multiple Google Android consoles online game stores. The gamer would have choice in console, and controller which they like most.

I think a lot of the people who buy these $99 and cheaper game consoles will not greatly reduce the amount of Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One gamers since $299-499 is too expensive for a lot of people who live in the third-world like Africa, Kids with small allowances, and broke adults who can only afford cheap consoles, and games, or play older PC and web browser games on an older desktop PC.

Some may just settle for playing 1-10 dollar games, and free games games on cheap Android consoles which may negatively affect sales for the Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One, but the number of gamers maybe small to non-existent since the people who buy cheap consoles may not be able to afford a more expensive console.

If it's open wide then what would be the point of a google console? I honestly don't see what they can offer gamers but a different button set up.

A different variety of games made for Google Android, but not release to mainstream consoles because they got rejected by mainstream consoles, or it cost too much to make games for bigger consoles.

Plus, people can pick a console with a controller they like to use instead of buying a console with a controller they don't like to use, but they need to buy the console to play a few exclusive games.

A Google Android console would also have the most number of non-gaming Apps since Google Android Apps store already has most of the popular third-party apps like Netflix, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc which already work on a Google Android console.

I read anyone who buys the Ouya console could make, and sell games on the Ouya games store, so over time tech savvy people who like similar games as other gamers will make and sell games on Ouya like how Steam make it easy for smaller game makers to publish games to its online store.
