I agree cases, and protective may keep the heat in. But, the protective covering may help shield some of the heat from your hands which can get very hot if you get nervous, stress, excited, and angry for some reason.

Cool air blowing from a fan would probably help remove some of the heat from staying too long on your phone.

I think it would be better to just toss it into the freeze for a minute than just a fan.
