I think there are older versions of Sonic for mobile, but it is best to play them with a controller, or keyboard and mouse. The new mobile Sonic running games are playable with a touchscreen.

I've heard there are some good fan made rom hacks that are pretty good.

I played it along time ago at an arcade machine. It is a classic medieval/mythical type game where you kill bosses with weapons and spells at the end of each side scrolling level with enemies. There is also a multiplayer mode where more than one player play the game to beat the game.

It is sort of like Mario Brothers, but with a medieval theme.
