I agree, I hate to get a PC which maybe expose to water, or salty air from the ocean if the store is close to the ocean.

I guest charging batteries reduces the amount of technical support calls, visits, and returns from less tech savvy buyers who don't check if the battery is charged before going back to the store to ask for a new one.

I don't think there are any stores that sell batteries, most are custom to each PC and have to be ordered.
