I agree it would be bad for the government to bail them out if the lawsuits against Intel made Intel lose most of its money from paying the victims. A lot of tax payers may feel their tax money is being wasted on Intel instead of using their money for more useful tasks like reducing forest fires. The government may bail Intel out, and say they saved millions of tech jobs during news interview.

I think other CPU makers like AMD, VIA, Nvidia, Samsung, Apple, Qualcomm, etc would buy the tech from Intel to keep making PC CPUs even if Intel goes bankrupt from many large lawsuits.

One good thing about Intel not existing if Intel goes bankrupt is that there would be no more new Intel CPUs being made by Intel with the Intel Meltdown and Spectre security problems which may take many years to fix according to articles I read, so there won't be as many computer buyers who buy a computer with the Intel Security problem installed on the CPU without knowing there is a risk of getting hacked if the Spectre and Meltdown patches gets hacked by a hacker or strong virus infection.

Samsung, Qualcomm, Nvidia, and many other CPU companies make a lot of CPUs for smartphones, tablets, mobile-CPU laptops, and a few servers which use non-AMD and non-Intel CPUs.

But, Intel and AMD holds the patents to make the CPUs in most laptops, desktop PC, and servers.

I think Intel and AMD are mostly running the market as well. But, for cheaper and smaller electronics and computers like Smartphones, tablets, mini-pcs, and car computers, there are many CPU makers like Qualcomm, Samsung, Apple, Nvidia, VIA and MediaTek which have their PC installed on electronics, and cheaper computers.

If any of these smaller CPUs wanted to make a name for themselves, now would be the time to do so with Intel down.

I agree the smaller CPU makers will most likely promote their CPU most while Intel is dealing with all their bad news from Meltdown and Spectre.

I think Samsung will most likely promote their CPU the most to try to earn back the money they lost from the Note 7 smartphone recall where Note 7 were exploding.

Some of Samsung's new highend smartphones with a mobile CPU can transform into a Linux desktop after you plug the phone into a monitor, and use a keyboard and mouse which is plugged into the Dock.

Samsung recently release a faster Samsung Google Chromebooks Plus with a OP1 mobile/ARM 2GHz Hexa-Core CPU, and 4 GB RAM.

Apple may promote their Apple iPad Pro with Apple CPU more as well.

The Raspberry Pi may get more users because the Raspberry Pi's CPU is not made by Intel. The Raspberry 3 is slower, but it can be good enough for online banking, e-mail, and chat where you want to keep your information safe.

VIA may get more buyers as well since VIA can run Windows software like Intel and AMD.
