There are RAM and power supply tester tools, so you don't need to assemble the motherboard to test RAM and power supply.Skeithex wrote:

It is possible to test the CPU, RAM, motherboard after installing the CPU and RAM in the motherboard, and installing the assembled motherboard in a case, and plugging in a power supply cable on the motherboard. Most motherboard's have video ports which are good for displaying video to see the results of testing programs like memtest.
Most motherboards also have a small speaker which give beep codes to tell you if the RAM, and CPU is working, or broken. If the motherboard never stops beeping, it usually means either your RAM, or CPU is broken.
