I think you need a very clean room to make a hard drive. I feel it maybe possible to make some of the components.

I've seen the rooms you need to make a hard drive, they are kind of crazy. Wonder if they will be around once SSD is standard?

I feel 1 or 2 hard drive factories may still exist in the future to make hard drive for important computers which are not compatible with SSDs. I bet, the government, schools, hospitals, and some old car computers/stereos may still need hard drives in many years.

I'm sure HDDs will always be made, they can always seem to keep ahead in SSD in terms of pure storage.

Hard drive also are cheaper to make, and buy. I think most cheap computers with 1TB of storage still use a hard drive.

Yeah, you won't find a 1 tb ssd computer in any stores yet, unless it is a very special thing.
