I feel 1TB SSD may go up in price if there is a shortage because a lot of computer parts factories are shutdown or not as many parts because of the Coronavirus lockdown. More electronics like next gen game consoles, expensive smartphones/tablets, PC, etc are using 1TB SSDs, and there may not be enough SSD storage chips to make millions of devices like next gen game consoles.

fearfully so, it would finally go down but all this madness in china will most likely turn prices right back around and go up.

I think web hostIng companies and huge websites like YouTube and Facebook may also buy a lot of large 1TB and larger SSD drives, so they have enough replacement drives to replace broken drives every year. A lot of companies buying up most of the world's SSD drives can cause a shortage and higher pricrs for SSD if SSD companies can't make enough drives for everyone who wants one.
The price of used SSDs can also go up if there is a shortage of SSD drives.

SSDs can only hold so much, so I can see them buying a lot. But with components in short supply, I wonder if its wise for them to buy so much?

I think they may buy a lot of SSD, so they can keep selling expensive web hosting plans with SSD storage to new users, and upgrade cheaper web hosting plans to SSD storage, so they can make more money.
Some companies can make money re-selling SSD if the price of SSD become more expensive. I think some PC stores maybe holding onto a lot of SSD to sell when the price becomes higher if there is a big SSD shortage.

Hard to say, I don't think a lot of companies want to deal with selling equipment and dealing with stuff that might end up becoming bad.

This is true, selling stuff can be difficult because some drive maybe bad. Plus, shipping stuff by mail is sometimes slower because of the Coronavirus lockdown.
