I feel many Google's bosses and workers are fans of Linux, so Android and Chrome OS will be based on Linux until a Google's boss and workers are not fans of Linux.

Google most likely cares a lot about saving money, so basing Android and Chrome OS off of Linux which is a free OS will save more money than making an OS from scratch.

A lot of big tech companies like Yahoo, Blackberry, Myspace, RadioShack, Kodak, Motorola, Sony, etc had money problems, so there is always a chance that Google can have money problems in the future, so saving money is important for all tech companies.

I'm surprised more companies don't come out with their own flavor of linux? specially in the age of people growing to hate Windows.

I think people may trust Linux basec Operating Systems more than companies own flavor of Linux. More tech savvy users can look at the Linux code, so they know what is in the code in a Linux base OS.

Linux based operating systems are cheaper and faster to make than a OS from scratch. Linux also already have a lot of compatible software and games for Linux from Steam for Linux and GOG. I read onlune that Chrome OS may work with Steam for Linux in the future.

I doubt it, most chrome books run at far subpar specs to run any steam game, maybe if a chromebook is upgraded it could handle it.

There are a few more expensive Chromebooks like the Google Pixelbook with Intel i5 and i7 CPUs, 8 GB RAM, and a few hundred GB of storage.

I think there are some older Steam, and Linux games which can run on slower laptops and computers, so many slower Chromebooks may run older games.

Even though they have that power, most of chromebook's apps wouldn't begin to draw upon that power.
