Maybe Microsoft did not hire enough beta testers who may of prevented Vista from being released with slow performance.

Could be, why hire when they can use the general public as beta testers.

I think MS can ask people to watch a video of someone using Vista for a few minutes on an average computer with 512mb of RAM and Intel Celeron CPU, and ask them to fill out a survey to see if they like what they see.

Most people don't want to watch the video, most don't read the to start guide.

I wonder if most people use a Vista computer at a tech store for a few minutes before buying it.

Wasn't much options back then for demos, it was vista or nothing.
