depends on the GUI, some are really rather good with settings

others like those on vista are hysterically amusing

Linux GNOME and KDE have decent GUI.

i prefer KDE, not really a fan of GNOME

FreeBSD's command line is fun

Although this may happen it is quite necessary. A new update is a hackers dream because it gives them new information about what was wrong so they take advantage of that loophole and whatever user did not get that update yet will face the consequences. Keep in mind this is also true for updates with anything like forums for instance. I learned that the hard way. Just a thought for ya. 8)

Also, it is important to update your firewall and antivirus software on a regular basis.

it's importnat to update EVERY thing, drivers, bios, AV, Anti spy, OS, and so on and so forth...

i have a near permanent connection to update servers i need my updates they be critical to my survival as minister of cheese
