I feel some smaller companies may rely on the free computer security software which comes built-into Windows, and use all-in-one computer maintenance software which may work good enough for keeping Windows secure until a more advance malware infects their computer.

Windows defend is better than nothing, but pairing it with malwarebytes is the best a free company can do.

Using free versions of antimalware and antispyware like Spybot, Clamwin, and Superantispyware to manually scan new files before opening could also help with preventing virus infections without spending money. Windows also have a program called Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool which is used for scanning and removing malware.

Never heard of Clamwin, what does that do?

Clamwin uses the ClamAV virus definitions to scan for virus and malware within Wibdows. I think ClamAV is mostly used to scan e-mail servers and file storage servers in Linux.

Sounds interesting, though I never heard of it.

I think not many people know of Clamwin except for people who used Windows XP, 98 and older Windows OS because Clamwin is one of the only AV which still support Windows 98 and XP.
